Founded as a physician hospital organization (PHO) in 1998, and formerly known as Preferred Health Services, ANI represented initially one hospital and approximately 200 physicians. In August of 2004, we changed our name to Aspirus Network, Inc., to leverage the Aspirus brand name and to strengthen our recognition throughout north central Wisconsin. In May of 2015, we transformed into a physician led Clinically Integrated Network (CIN) to align for “future state” value-based payor contracting and for population health management by focusing on the Triple Aim objectives. Today we represent over 500 physicians, 8 Hospitals, 9 Ambulatory Surgery Centers and many ancillary healthcare professionals. Aspirus Network is a wholly owned subsidiary of Aspirus, Inc.

Aspirus Network, Inc. (ANI) is governed by a Board of Directors that consists of 9 elected members. Aspirus Network has four governing committees that report up to the Board. The Board has regularly scheduled monthly meetings with the right to hold a special meeting at the discretion of the Chairman or Executive Director. The Board meeting minute highlights are available to Aspirus Network provider members on our secure website.
The Physician Leadership Council is comprised of physician leaders collaborating to provide oversight for the Clinical Value program and support of quality or improvement efforts of Aspirus Network's Clinically Integrated Network (CIN). PLC has has regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
The Credentialing Committee has oversight of our credentialing policy and participation requirements for network membership. The Credentialing Committee evaluates provider applications, reapplications and supporting documentation regarding approvals, denials, terminations or other actions as it relates to payor credentialing. The Committee has regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
The Payor Contracting Committee (PCC) has oversight of the interpretation and evalution of Payor (or network) & employer market based reimbursement strategies and related contracts. PCC has regularly scheduled monthly meetings.
The Network Engagement Committee is responsible for investigating and evaluating mechanisms for engaging provider members in participation of Aspirus Network's Clinically Integrated Network (CIN). The Committee has regularly scheduled monthly meetings.

Aspirus Network contracts with most Payors in the region. These Payors include health maintenance organizations (HMOs), preferred provider organizations (PPOs), and network only or "broker" arrangements. We also contract directly with employers and community business coalitions.

There are currently two membership options offered by Aspirus Network:
Clinically Integrated Network (CIN)
Participation with ALL Aspirus Network contracted Payors, including eligibility for participation in our Wisconsin Medicaid HMO plans if desired. There are general requirements that must be met in order to join our Clinically Integrated Network.
Participation ONLY with our local employer sponsored Payors, which offer benefit steerage to Aspirus Network providers.

Payor credentialing is the process of assessing and validating the qualifications of a licensed provider to provide patient care under the accepted terms of Aspirus Network Payor contracts. As a benefit to our members, Aspirus Network holds delegated credentialing agreements with all of our contracted Payors. This equates to a streamlined credentialing process and providers only having to fill out one credentialing application to participate.
Aspirus Network must be notified of any changes to provider or group practice information that will affect patient claims. The Provider Change Form linked below should be completed within 10 days of your knowledge of any change. This form alerts Aspirus Network and gives us the information needed to update our records and online directory. Aspirus Network will also notify our contracted Payors of the change, which is important for claims processing and payment. You may be asked to provide a copy of a current W9 and sample claim.
Provider change form for Wisconsin providers. Please be sure to review the location roster on the Secure website to be sure you select the most appropriate location. If your location is not listed, a W-9, sample claim, and location NPI# will be needed to set up a new location. If you have questions, please work with your revenue cycle/billing departments to ensure proper set up and avoid claims denials.
